Sean Astin is an American film actor, director, and producer. He is best known for his film roles, including Mikey Walsh in 'The Goonies', the title character of 'Rudy', and Samwise Gamgee in 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy. In 2004, Astin released a memoir titled 'There and Back Again', co-written with Joe Layden, detailing his film career with a focus on his experiences with 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy.
