Z předmluvy autorky: Tak jako tomu bylo v případě mé první knihy, ani zde nebylo mým úmyslem psát historii genocidy v Rwandě. Detailní reportáž a politickou analýzu těch 100 dní zabíjení ponechávám historikům, žurnalistům, profesorům a politikům. Mým příspěvkem je pouze můj vlastní příběh – ano, příběh o přežití genocidy, ale také svědectví o tom, jak jsem díky víře a uzdravující síle odpuštění znovu objevila chuť žít, smysl života.
