Přes všechnu svou inspirativnost, všechny své nádherné výroky, všechny životy, které navždy změnila, Bible pořád působí mnoha lidem velké těžkosti. Téměř vždy vede ke katastrofě v rukou egocentrických, nemilujících nebo po moci toužících lidí nebo těch, kteří se stále nenaučili číst duchovně inspirovanou literaturu. Historie to dokazuje pořád, století za stoletím, takže nejde o nepodložený, neuctivý ani zaujatý závěr. Upalování kacířů, křižácké výpravy, otroctví, apartheid i vyhánění a útlak domorodců, to vše bylo ospravedlňováno pomocí vybraných citátů z Písma. Takže hned z kraje víte, kam mířím. Můj přístup obecně je změnit čtenáře a neměnit text. Jen konvertovaným lidem lze svěřit inspirovaný text. Jedině oni budou působit v symbiotickém vztahu se slovy a příběhy (symbióza = „sdílený život“). Jedině u nich není pravděpodobné, že by použili Bibli jako zdroj osobní moci, jako kladivo nebo jako zdůvodnění svého špatného chování. Zůstaňte v modlitebním dialogu s téměř jakýmkoliv duchovním textem – i problematickým – a skoro vždy přinese ovoce. (úryvek z knihy)
