Claire Castillon made her literary debut in 2000 at the age of 25, quickly establishing herself with a surprising and unsettling first novel. Her subsequent works solidified her status as a distinctive voice, resisting easy categorization. Her fourth novel was considered her most accomplished, while her fifth explored memory, truth, and fantasy, earning her a significant literary award. Castillon then shifted her focus to short fiction, releasing a collection in 2006 that examined mother-daughter relationships, which achieved widespread success and was translated into twelve languages. A second collection followed in 2007, offering sharp insights into male-female dynamics.
