Pour une fois, l'argumentaire publicitaire au recto du livre (qu'il faut lire rapidement, en diagonale si on ne veut pas s'enlever d'avance les surprises du récit) résume bien l'intrigue de ce gros roman. "C'est toute l'histoire de la persécution des juifs par les nazis de 1933 à 1945, vue à travers deux familles de Berlin dont les destins s'entrecroisent". Ajoutons que ce récit a obtenu un succès énorme à la télévision américaine. Socio-politique-fiction qui sonne, hélas trop vrai.
