In Capeside wird ein Low-Budget-Horrorfilm gedreht, was für Dawson die Chance bedeutet, als Regieassistent zu arbeiten. Doch Jen übernimmt den Job. Joey spielt in einer Liebesszene mit dem Hauptdarsteller, während Pacey in der Stand-up-Comedy erfolgreich ist. Dawson hingegen fühlt sich zurückgesetzt.
In Capeside wird ein Auktionsevent organisiert, um Geld für den Leuchtturm zu sammeln. Schüler verkleiden sich als Berühmtheiten, während Jen von einem geheimen Bieter ersteigert wird. Joey nutzt die Gelegenheit, um Brett zu schikanieren, und Pacey verkleidet sich als James Dean. Dawson filmt das Geschehen.
Um für Capeside als Ferien ort zu werben, veranstaltet die Stadt ein Romantik-Festival unter dem Motto "Capeside ist Romantik pur". Als eine der Hauptattraktionen soll ein Kusswettbewerb stattfinden, der das Pärchen mit dem größten Durchhaltevermögen ermitteln will. Pacey ist natürlich ganz aus dem Häuschen vor Begeisterung, zumal der Hauptpreis mehr als verlockend ist. Leider zeigt Andie so gar kein Interesse.§Um den Tourismus zusätzlich anzukurbeln, will die Stadt einen Preis für das romantischste Reisevideo verleihen. Den will Dawson unbedingt gewinnen. Wenn er sich nur entscheiden könnte, wem er die weibliche Hauptrolle geben soll.§Jens Cousine Courtney, die zu Besuch in Capeside ist, könnte genau die Richtige sein. Ganz im Gegensatz zu früher zeigt sie sich von ihrer freundlichsten Seite und ist eigentlich ganz nett. Irgendwie zu nett, wie Jen und Joey finden. Und sie sollen Recht behalten. Denn wenn Courtney ihre Intrigen spinnt, ist niemand in Capeside vor ihr sicher.
