Ronald G. Asch is a graduate of Tübingen University, where he also completed his doctorate in 1982. His doctoral research focused on the counts of Fürstenberg during the 16th and 17th centuries. Prior to this, he pursued earlier studies at Kiel and Clare Hall, Cambridge.
