Otto Skorzeny

Otto Skorzeny was an Austrian Waffen-SS officer during World War II. After fighting on the Eastern Front, he was selected as the field commander for a rescue mission that freed the deposed Italian dictator Benito Mussolini from captivity. Skorzeny also led Operation Greif, which involved infiltrating enemy lines using their language, uniforms, and customs. At the end of the war, Skorzeny was involved with the Werwolf guerrilla movement and the ODESSA network, serving as its Spanish coordinator.
