Travel networks of road, rail and air are so interconnected that you can combine parts of the routes in a range of different ways. Travel agencies, listed through the book, can make the necessary arrangements for a relatively small fee, saving you time and bother, but remember that air and rail tickets can be difficult to get at short notice for some trips, especially during the winter peak season. Allow a little more time if you are planning to travel entirely by road and rail. However, if you use overnight trains for longer journeys you can cover almost as much ground in the same time as you would by flying.
