Slocum was on trial - for his job. Big George Sheridan, the richest, meanest cattleman in Arizona, had a quirky sense of humor: instead of hanging Slocum, her hired him - and then tried to find out if the tough loner was worth his very generous wages. Slocum stayed one step ahead of Sheridan, until he had to face a gringo-hating Mexican general in a cattle-for-carbines deal. But a Castilian beauty's dark eyes promised Slocum a very special reward..
