The story follows Alex, a graduate chemist and educator, as he navigates relationships with Chinese women, only to discover a sinister twist. Each woman he encounters is a carrier of a deadly strain of syphilis that targets Caucasian men, leading to a rapid and fatal outcome. As Alex becomes entangled with these women, he learns that if the disease cannot be transmitted quickly, there are lethal consequences for the men. The narrative explores themes of desire, danger, and the unexpected perils of romantic pursuits.

First published in 1984,, whilst leaving the majority of Alan's original words intact, the 2nd edition has been enhanced by the addition of extra photographs of Alan's work.
