Autorka svojou románovou prvotinou v rámci príbehu inšpirovaného skutočnými udalosťami načrela do bezútešného života rómskej komunity, z ktorého - zdá sa - niet úniku. Ako sa sama vyznáva na zadnej obálke knihy: pred rokmi som v rámci mediálneho kurzu strávila niekoľko dní na Luníku IX. Zistila som, že existuje peklo a že nemusím najskôr zomrieť, aby som sa doň dostala. Výjavy z košického geta mi neschádzali z mysle. Hudba, ktorá dunela na zdevastovanom sídlisku, mi dlho znela v ušiach a príbeh, o ktorom som sa dozvedela od tamojších obyvateľov, ma neprestával mátať. Napokon som sa rozhodla, že sa ním inšpirujem, a na základe prerozprávaných udalostí a dohľadaných faktov som ho spracovala. Pretože aj na takom mieste, ako je Luník IX, sa môže odohrať niečo krásne a nesmrteľné.
