Otto Rahn

    February 18, 1904 – March 14, 1939

Otto Wilhelm Rahn was a German medievalist who explored the legends of the Holy Grail and their potential connection to Catharism. He focused his research in the Pyrenees, seeking a link between the medieval Cathars, believed to have guarded the Grail at Montségur, and ancient Druids. His writings intertwined the wisdom of medieval troubadours with Grail mysteries and Gnostic traditions. Rahn penned two books that captured the attention of the SS, and his life ended under mysterious circumstances in the Austrian Alps.
