Es geht hier sowohl um das Aufsuchen von Grenzen (als Berührungspunkten und Kontaktzonen) und um Grenzüberschreitungen, als auch um Arten des ‚Querdenkens‘ in Form von neuen Ansätzen, neuen Methoden und einer neuen Sicht auf ‚alte‘ und ‚neue‘ Probleme. Die Beiträge widmen sich derartigen Überschreitungen von Grenzen zwischen Ländern, Sprachen, Genres, Medien und Disziplinen. Dabei suchen die Beiträger nach neuen Methoden, betrachten ihr Forschungsthema aus anderer Perspektive oder integrieren Ansätze aus anderen Disziplinen.
