Richard Wilhelm was a German translator renowned for his significant contributions to making Chinese philosophical works accessible in German. His translations have been rendered into numerous global languages, solidifying their worldwide impact. The I Ching translation by Wilhelm is still considered a benchmark of excellence, as is his rendering of The Secret of the Golden Flower, both of which were enhanced by introductions from his personal friend, the Swiss psychologist Carl Jung.
