Elke Wehr, geboren 1946 in Bautzen und verstorben 2008 in Berlin, studierte Romanistik in Paris und Heidelberg, wobei sie sich zunächst auf Italienisch und Französisch konzentrierte, später jedoch auf Spanisch.
