America's economy does not currently live up to our country's core values. We are a nation founded on the ideals of coming together across differences to forge a common future. Yet over the past fifty years, our economy has been pulling us apart at unprecedented rates. By allowing top income earners and the wealthiest Americans to hoard wealth like almost never before, we belie what makes our country great. This is a threat to our well-being, our democracy, and our values. Brian C. Johnson combines accessible scholarship on wealth and income inequality in America with deeply personal accounts of six Americans of diverse backgrounds who are each wrestling with what it means to survive and thrive in this new economic world. In so doing, he offers a solution that is as visionary as it is practical. Dubbed the Citizen Dividend, this revolutionary model assumes that economic growth is built off of the wealth we have created together as a country, and together we all reap its benefits. In Our Fair Share, Johnson lays the groundwork for implementing this solution, detailing what the Citizen Dividend is, offering examples of similar existing models, outlining the benefits of such systems, tackling some of the common concerns that arise, and offering a path toward making it a reality. Ultimately, Our Fair Share calls on each of us to claim what is uniquely American, building a common future that embraces and celebrates our differences. This is our revolutionary inheritance. May we all benefit from it
The GR11 is a glorious 820km traverse of the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean on the Spanish side of the border with France, taking about 47 days to walk. Although it's a serious challenge for experienced hikers, the route is less demanding than the higher-level HRP, sunnier and wilder than the GR10 which runs along the French side, and well waymarked throughout with regular opportunities to find accomodation and stock up your supplies.

Set against the backdrop of the turbulent sixteenth century in Florence, the story follows an anonymous Roman scrivener who, while historical events unfold around him, dedicates himself to a secretive masterwork. Unlike typical manuscripts, his notebook holds arcane knowledge that promises wealth, power, and love, but also carries significant risks. As influential figures like Savonarola and Pico della Mirandola shape the era, the scrivener's quest for mastery and understanding of magic intertwines with the chaos of his time.
The narrative explores the dual life of Brian Johnson, who balances his fame as the lead singer of AC/DC with his passion for golf. Volcano Days is a brilliant first novel about madness, desire, and damnation. It is the story of a man who comes to inhabit a detailed and voluptuous state of paranoia. With aspects redolent of Camus and Conrad, this finely wrought tale of delusion and discovery is written in a poetic prose that is astonishing in its music and texture, yet comic in its acute self-awareness. An exquisitely dark and sensual meditation on the nature of sanity, Volcano Days is a gem of language and sensibility.
