Hilke Rosenboom

    May 11, 1957 – August 15, 2008

Hailing from an ancient seafaring family, Hilke Rosenboom spent her childhood on the islands of Juist and Baltrum. After studying in Kiel and attending journalism school in Hamburg, she worked for fifteen years as a reporter for the magazine 'Stern,' traveling extensively across the globe. This rich experience laid the foundation for her transition to writing novels for children and young adults, where she skillfully captures the world of her young readers.
