Der aus Wuppertal stammende Peter Voss ist seit Jahren mit seiner Kamera auf der gesamten Welt unterwegs, bevorzugt in Afrika und Asien. Bekannt sind seine hochauflösenden und mit mehreren Blitzgeräten inszenierten Fotografien, für die er zahlreiche Preise gewann, u. a. zuletzt 2017 beim „10th International Color Awards“ den 1. Platz für „Outstanding Achievement in „Children Of The World“ und den 3. Platz als „Photographer Of The Year“. Voss, von dem bereits großformatige Bildbände über Indien, die Naturvölker Afrikas, über Nepal, Papua und die Mongolei vorliegen, begibt sich in das arme Bangladesch und sucht dort nicht nur die attraktiven Motive, sondern auch die weniger positiven Seiten des Landes auf, die im Buch ebenso zu sehen sind: Müllberge und Säureopfer.
