Leo Navratil Book order
Leo Navratil was an Austrian psychiatrist and author who worked at the hospital in Gugging. He conceptualized the works, paintings, and texts of his patients as "state-bound art" ("Zustandsgebundene Kunst"), believing that artistically relevant pieces emerged during the acute stages of mental illness. Navratil championed the creativity of his patients, exhibiting their art and publishing their writings, thereby situating their output within a broader artistic context.
