Josef Nesvadba

    June 19, 1926 – April 26, 2005

Josef Nesvadba is regarded as one of the most significant authors of Czech science fiction. His short stories function as laboratories of human morality and spaces for exploring ethical and philosophical questions, with plot and characters serving the expression of core ideas. Through a cultivated style characterized by concise sentences and a detached observation of events, Nesvadba examines the feelings of an intellectual within a changing society. He significantly contributed to promoting Czech SF abroad, where his individual collections were published and his works featured in global anthologies.
