Georges Politzer

    May 3, 1903 – May 23, 1942

Georges Politzer was a French philosopher and Marxist theoretician whose work sought to bridge the gap between philosophy, psychology, and political action. He developed a materialist approach to psychology, emphasizing its concrete aspects over abstract traditional theories. Politzer was deeply involved in political activism from a young age, which led to exile and later engagement with the French Communist Party. During the occupation, he actively resisted and published clandestine materials, ultimately facing execution for his beliefs and actions.
