The Royal Palace of Herrenchiemsee (New Palace), the palace park and the King Ludwig II Museum are the principal attractions on the island of Herrenchiemsee. In the Museum in the Augustinian Monastery (Old Palace) there are exhibitions on the history of the monastery and of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany, plus a private apartement used by King Ludwig II.
