J. Allen Hynek

    May 1, 1910 – April 27, 1986

This author is perhaps best remembered for his pioneering research into the phenomenon of UFOs. He served as a scientific advisor for key governmental projects investigating unexplained aerial phenomena, applying a rigorous scientific perspective. Following this, he dedicated decades to independent research, developing the widely recognized 'Close Encounter' classification system. His work laid the groundwork for the scientific analysis of UFO reports and the purported trace evidence associated with these phenomena.
