Focusing on the flaws within the coordination arrangements and institutional structure of the European Economic and Monetary Union, this book analyzes how these issues have contributed to the Eurozone crisis. It employs a dual approach, combining a literature review of fiscal policy practices with an analytical examination of economic models related to fiscal coordination. The findings suggest that enhanced fiscal policy coordination could improve public finances and overall welfare within the EMU. The content largely reflects the author's diploma thesis.
