Earl "Lefty" Calvin, a one-armed roofer, navigates personal and professional challenges, including his feelings for a young waitress and a struggling business. When a raccoon steals his prosthetic arm, he believes life can't get worse. However, a tornado changes everything, leading him and his rag-tag crew to take on the controversial task of repairing an AIDS hospice.
