Thomas Stevens was an intrepid adventurer, renowned as the first person to circumnavigate the globe by bicycle. His epic journey, undertaken on an Ordinary bicycle (also known as a penny-farthing), spanned from April 1884 to December 1886. Following this remarkable feat, Stevens continued his global explorations, notably searching for Henry Morton Stanley in Africa and investigating the claims of Indian ascetics. He eventually settled in London, managing the Garrick Theatre.
