Alfred Hitchcock was an iconic director and producer who pioneered many techniques in the suspense and thriller genres. After a substantial career in his native Britain, Hitchcock moved to Hollywood and became an American citizen, while also retaining his British subject status. Over a career spanning six decades, he directed more than fifty feature films, from the silent era through to color productions. Hitchcock was among the most recognizable directors to the public and remains one of the best known and most popular filmmakers of all time.
