Franz Roh Books

Franz Roh was a German art historian and critic who coined the term magic realism. His work delved into the analysis of contemporary European painting, exploring its themes and techniques. Roh also investigated the concept of the unrecognized artist and the dynamics of cultural misunderstanding. As a critic, he held a distinct view on photography, disliking images that mimicked painting or drawing.
