Tato kniha na činnost Mosadu navazuje a věnuje se třiceti nejodvážnějším vojenským misím izraelských zvláštních jednotek. Poutavě líčí nejdůležitější bitvy, záškodnické akce hluboko v nepřátelském území a úkoly speciálních komand a při té příležitosti odhaluje obavy a naděje nejvyšších velitelů i obyčejných vojáků. To be a Free People is based on the Declaration of Independence of May 1948. Editors of the book took 12 of its ringing phrases, which express the essential Israeli identity. Each phrase opens one of the book's 12 chapters, in which were gathered together extracts related to that topic.
