Seve Ballesteros was a Spanish professional golfer who became a World No. 1 and a leading figure in the sport from the mid-1970s to the mid-1990s. His game was distinguished by an exceptional short game and sometimes erratic driving. Ballesteros won five major championships, including three Open Championships and two Masters Tournaments. He was also instrumental in European Ryder Cup victories, serving as both a player and captain. He is widely regarded as the greatest Spanish golfer of all time.
