Władysław Anders

General Anders was a significant figure in the Polish Army and its government-in-exile. His military career began after Poland regained independence, and during the Polish-Soviet War, he commanded an uhlan regiment. He pursued further military education in France and served on the general staff upon his return. Despite opposing a 1926 coup, he avoided persecution and later commanded a cavalry brigade, achieving the rank of general.
