Channelize is a mixed-heritage woman looking to escape her past. Following the tragic loss of her only daughter, aged 3, she leaves England for Spain and a new life. Her early years in Spain are marked by drunken conduct, critically noted by the local, racist ex-pats who know nothing of her history. With her mother's support, plus that of some good friends, Channelize manages to lift herself out of her more hedonistic behaviour and find a way of life that offers her more peace. Her choice in men leaves much to be desired, however, until one particular encounter changes everything.
