      This volume features papers from five workshops held during the International Conference on Extending Database Technology (EDBT) in Heraklion, Greece, in March 2004: the ICDE/EDBT Joint Ph.D. Workshop, Database Technologies for Handling XML-information on the Web, Pervasive Information Management, Peer-to-Peer Computing and Databases, and Clustering Information Over the Web. The workshops collectively presented 61 high-quality papers selected from around 180 submissions, highlighting the rigorous selection process.
