Douglas C. Kenney

Douglas C. Kenney was an American actor and writer who co-founded National Lampoon magazine in 1970. Kenney edited the magazine and wrote much of its early material, becoming one of the originating forces of the "new wave" of comedy—a dark, irreverent style of humor he used as the basis for his magazine. Kenney served as Editor-in-Chief and contributed numerous early pieces, gaining renown for their satirical takes on politics and society. He also co-authored the screenplay for the film Animal House, which became one of the most profitable comedies of its era.
