Gorch Fock Books
August 22, 1880 – May 31, 1916
Johann Kinau, writing under the pen name Gorch Fock, was often called the German "poet of the sea." His works center on themes from his upbringing: the sea, sailing, and the lives of fishermen. Many of his pieces are written entirely or partially in Low German, a northern German dialect, lending them a unique quality.
