This scientific collective monograph is based on contributions from an international conference held in September 2021 at the University of Pécs, Hungary, in collaboration with the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Czech Republic. It explores the themes of continuity and discontinuity in the 20th century. Chapters authored by experts from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Germany, and Slovakia examine these issues not only within the context of Central and Eastern European history but also in relation to non-European areas.
