More about the book

Bellefleur has a distinct voice, with one-liners that resonate humorously and poignantly. Her writing sparkles, capturing a whimsical essence akin to fairy lights in a mason jar. Following her previous works, the Lambda Literary Award winner and bestselling author pens a steamy queer rom-com about former best friends who may find a second chance at love. Margot Cooper has sworn off relationships after a disastrous attempt, opting for casual hookups instead. However, as her friends pair off, she feels increasingly like a fifth wheel. Fate intervenes when she encounters Olivia Grant, her childhood friend and first love, after a decade apart. Olivia, now nearly thirty, has faced her own challenges, including a marriage and divorce. A wedding planner job in Seattle offers her a fresh start, but she never expected to see Margot again, especially as the Best Woman for her new client. When Olivia finds herself without a place to stay, Margot, feeling charitable, offers her spare room—though the lingering attraction complicates matters. As they navigate their time together, Margot begins to question her no-strings policy. With Olivia embodying everything she desires, Margot must confront her past and decide if she can embrace this second chance at love.
