Ausgezeichnet wurde er mit dem Jane Scatcherd-Preis, dem Paul-Celan-Preis des Deutschen Literaturfonds und dem Straelener Übersetzerpreis der Kunststiftung NRW (zusammen mit Frank Heibert).
