Rinkitink in Oz

Set in the magical Isles beyond Oz, the story follows Prince Inga of Pingaree and King Rinkitink on a perilous quest. Notably, characters from Oz only appear at the climax, as the book was initially conceived as a standalone fantasy over a decade earlier. The narrative unfolds across three islands—Pingaree, Regos, and Coregos—and delves into the caverns of the Nome King. Baum ingeniously adapts the plot to feature the new Nome King, Kaliko, following the deposition of Roquat, adding a politically motivated layer to the adventure.
