More about the book
At the age of ten in the mid-1970s, David Marcum discovered Mr. Sherlock Holmes, realizing that the original 60 Canonical adventures would never suffice. This sparked a lifelong desire to write, leading him to create new stories for The Great Holmes Tapestry. Over the years, David collected and chronologized thousands of traditional Sherlockian pastiches. In 2008, while laid off during the Great Recession, he found inspiration in Watson's Tin Dispatch Box, producing "The Papers of Sherlock Holmes." These initial nine short stories had been shelved in his collection until he decided to share them. The collection was first published by a small press in 2011 and later by MX Publishing in 2013, marking the start of his prolific journey. Since then, David has edited over 60 volumes and published more than 80 Sherlockian adventures across various anthologies and magazines. Now, these works are being compiled, including some previously unseen stories. The first five volumes encompass most of David's Holmesian tales, with more adventures planned for release in 2022. Join us in revisiting Baker Street to uncover more authentic escapades of Sherlock Holmes, as described by Dr. Watson as "the best and wisest . . . whom I have ever known." The game is afoot!
