In 1911 Egypt, Amelia Peabody investigates the theft of ancient artifacts and the death of an American at an excavation site. Accusations of drug dealing arise, and a mysterious child complicates matters, threatening to fracture her family. As danger looms, Amelia must use her deduction skills to uncover the truth.
