The Wind Rises

Set in 1786, the story follows thirteen-year-old Alma, who embarks on a perilous journey to rescue her brother after he discovers a path out of their secluded African valley. Confronted by the horrors of the slave trade, her quest becomes a fight for survival and the preservation of her family's legacy. Meanwhile, in Lisbon, orphan Joseph Mars, a petty thief, seeks treasure aboard a slave ship, The Sweet Amelie, only to realize he must confront the darker motives of those around him. Both characters face profound challenges that reshape their destinies.
