More about the book
The book explores Valentin Tomberg's intellectual journey from his early humanistic studies to a profound engagement with Platonic knowledge and medieval realism. It highlights his critical view of modern legal positivism, which he sees as a degeneration of law's foundational principles rooted in religion. Tomberg advocates for a regeneration of legal thought, proposing a new academic framework that reinstates higher levels of law and reconnects with the underlying ideals. His work reflects a deep philosophical and theological inquiry into the nature of law and morality.
