The story follows young Alex on Christmas Eve, eagerly awaiting his new puppy, Zipper. However, when Zipper escapes during a visit from grandparents, Alex and his mother embark on a neighborhood adventure to find him. Along the way, they encounter diverse neighbors celebrating various winter holidays, including Diwali, Hanukkah, Las Posadas, and Kwanzaa. Through this journey, Alex learns about the richness of different traditions and the commonalities that unite them, culminating in a joyful Christmas feast with his new furry friend.
