A Girl During the War

Set against the backdrop of World War II in Rome and Florence, the story follows university student Marina Tozzi, who escapes to Villa I Tatti after her father's murder. As she assists art collector Bernard Berenson in cataloging his library amidst the chaos of war, Marina becomes entangled with a partisan named Carlos, igniting a romance filled with hope.
