That is a story of extreme tragedy. When she arrived in Italy from Pakistan to seek treatment, her face was scarred and the neck shrunken and the scarring prevented her to raise her head. Her husband had vented his anger and jealousy and disfigured her face with acid. This book is the story of tragedy and rebirth of a woman : her difficult childhood, work as a dancer admired and censured, falling in love, disappointments, her marriage to the son of a prominent politician, and after the violence of the acid, the long-term care, the slow reconstruction of interior and exterior, the return to a normal life.
