Some things seem impossible but are, in fact, inevitable. This narrative follows three Untouchables—my grandmother, my father, and myself—who accomplish what should have been unattainable. My journey began in a village in India, where I was born an Untouchable. Professor Solomon Darwin, the author, is the Director of the Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. He is an acclaimed international speaker, recognized for his innovative leadership and dedication to teaching. His courses cover topics such as Open Innovation, Business Models, and Building Smart Cities, inspiring students across various disciplines. Before joining Berkeley-Haas in 2005, he spent nine years as an Associate Professor at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California. His corporate leadership experience spans 14 years as a Senior Executive Officer at major banks and Motorola. He serves as an honorary professor at several universities in Europe, China, and India. As the “Father of the Smart Village Movement,” he has created scalable business models that connect global brands with local industries to foster rural development.
