More about the book

"In this book you will read the stories of those who live and / or work at the Salton Sea. The interviews were conducted bdtween February and May 2011. Upon starting this book, I didn't realize how difficult it would be to give the reader a just selectionof the many different people that make the sea their home and / or workplace. It is thus that I recognize that it is incomplete. The famillies from Latin America are under-represented, as are the African-Americans and the people from the local tribe, the Torres-MArtinez. I continue to work towards puttnig together an even more complete picture. In the meantime, there are non etten stories, ideas and opinions in this book. There is a website dedicated to continuing this project, which can be found under thesaltonseaspeaks.blogspot.com."--Acknowledgements, page vii.
