Hermux Tantamoq è un topo per bene, che conduce una vita tranquilla e ordinata. Quando torna a casa dopo una giornata di lavoro nella sua bottega di orologiaio, si mette comodo e inizia a sfogliare il giornale. Un giorno però Hermux trova nel giornale la fotografia di una cliente che al mattino gli ha portato a riparare un orologio da polso, una topolina dinamica e sbarazzina che non era più riuscito a levarsi dalla testa.
